In 1837, Mexican governor Alvarado granted el Rancho San Jose to Ygnacio Palomares and Ricardo Vejar. Ygnacio Palomares settled with his family in the northern part of the ranch, and Ricardo Vejar and his family took the south. Each mug features the Palomares and Vejar brands!
The rancho prospered for many years, and the land covered by the Rancho San Jose is now Pomona, Claremont, San Dimas, La Verne, San Dimas, Azusa and parts of Walnut, Diamond Bar, Covina, and Glendora.
